The Louis Vuitton Series 4 advertising campaign came out about a year after creating my own virtual model Faye and was the most inspiring example of what I needed to work towards. LV chose Lightning the heroic character from the Final Fantasy cult video game and commissioned their creators at Square Enix studios to produce the first high-end fashion CGI campaign to show the latest collection. It’s fabulous. It’s the future. It’s already in the past.

A master in 3D typography and at the same time, his sportswear and car sculptures are exceptional. I particularly love his Sneaker Tectonics series that visualises a sneaker concept building squeezed between city skyscrapers.
So I’ve been talking about my ideas for a while with my fashion network; about how technology can replace the existing resource hungry, incredibly wasteful, analogue fashion industry.
Whilst they’re a switched-on fashion-forward crowd, I’m not at all sure they’re convinced about the tech takeover. This is partly what drives me to experiment and develop concepts.
And the more I research the subject, the more instances I find of future potential in the present.
